Work placement Fiat Group Summer 2007

Welcome to the FIAT world!!!

 

 

FIAT is for me a family story, indeed my father gave me the gene when I was born and since I was a baby, Fiat belonged to my daily life. I like this company and it was really enriching and interesting to discover Fiat in another country, to know the image of the brand, especially in a country where people drive to the left!!!

 

In that way I have made a placement in my favourite company but in an unknown department for me: the finance. Fiat is not only cars but a real loan and insurance company too. To be honest before my placement I understand nothing about finance and I did not know that the financial service needs a marketing department but in fact Fiat financial services is a small company inside a big group and it needs all of the services than a big company and the marketing service is very active and important not only for FAFS but for the sales department too.

 

I arrived in UK without experience about finance but with the passion of the brand and the strong willing to learn and work for Fiat Group.

I was positively surprised because firstly I’m not the lonely to have the passion of the brand, indeed people who work for Fiat like the cars and trust to the company and that’s really important because if you wake up every morning and go to work without passion, you cannot work as good as your possibilities. Secondly, I confess, I was prejudiced against English people but my team was very nice, funny, relaxed and professional and the atmosphere in the Fiat office was very good.

 

So I could begin to work in goods conditions!!! My goals for the placement are at first to improve my English, get an experience in a big company and go thoroughly into my knowledge in Marketing and management thanks to a practical exercise.

My team was ready to teach me this but people expected to me that I enjoyed myself at work; I was time keeping, open-minded, ready to listen and professional. And I think it was ok. Our partnership was very enriching and missions were interesting:

Assist the marketing executive and the Marketing manager, Assist in the everyday running of marketing department, create an activity report for the Customer relationship management team, the other part of the marketing department, updating dealers incentives, data, dealer and customer communication and create new marketing campaign.

Indeed during a couple of months I was in total immersion in the Fiat financial services marketing world!!! And now I want to share with you my experience and maybe transmit to you my passion for this brand!!!
